What kind of questions can I ask at a Tarot reading?

I am going to my first tarot reading tomorrow as I have recently come out of a long dead relationship, have turned 30 and want to know things such as will I will get married, have kids, be happy etc. Am I asking to much to be given guidance on these things?

  1. Ask the cards how God feels about Tarot cards. Could be interesting. Maybe ask using Jesus' name specifically.
  2. Ask "Is Jesus Christ Lord"
  3. I would actually refrain from asking specific questions to be honest sometimes readers will answer simply based on what they think would make you happy if you simply ask for a general reading regarding future guidance ( and I am glad you said that word and not prediction ) then the reader will be more inclined to just go with the flow and it will be a better reading
  4. ...you must be a very wealthy person, just to be able to "throw" your money away on nonsense.
  5. I am going to hospital to-morrow I need a tarot reader to tell me how I will get on, I am asking for a cold reading. Why don't you ask someone in here as I believe there are some good tarot readers who will give you a cold reading.
  6. Hello You can ask what you wish if the readers allow question & most do. Ask what matters to you, what you really need guidance on. Sadhara
  7. Any issue in life can be asked about- the problems come in with 'how' the questions are asked, and with some readers, they will not read a question like, "What does guy X that I have a crush on think about me?' for that is a question that some feel is an invasion of privacy. But you don't have a Q like that, so no worries. Phrasing a question for tarot is an important step. It can be a difficult thing to find the right way to present one's issues and questions. Some readers can take your question and reform it to fit their reading style or what not, and just work with what you give them. Some readers who have a strong psychic side can give answers to the “when will XXX happen” type questions. BUT- WHEN & WHO questions give ‘future’ answers from the stand point of the Here & Now, but things can change in the blink of an eye and then that ‘future’ changes. Futures are not set in stone and that is something that many do not understand when it comes to ‘fortune-telling’. People come up with the conclusion that Tarot and psychics do not work because the future that was told to them was altered by either their actions or some external influence. These type of questions can be very limiting to both client and reader. One will also want to phrase questions in a manner that does more that just answer with a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ Tarot does not work in those kind of ‘absolutes’. (A weak example- but gets the point across) Today- Q- “who is my one true love supposed to be?” A- “a guy who drives a truck for a living” Ah! The Fed-Ex guy who has been hitting on me!!! Yay! He’s cute. Tommorrow- Company lay offs….no longer will the fed-ex guy been seen to further any interaction….unless of course one takes action to cross paths with the guy to continue on with potential that was seen in the cards If you sat down with me and expressed what you have here, I would ask you if we would re-phrase the question to be, "What can I do to open myself up and prepare for love and a family" With the question presented as such, it encompasses pretty much everything you are wanting to know. This question will give advice and suggestions to help you accomplish your wishes. The cards will not tell of a 'tall, dark & handsome guy' or what ever, that lives down the street, but will tell what the person is like, hints on what type of person to look for. Cards may say the person you seek is goofy & amusing, or skilled in an area that requires ‘good hands’ such as a surgon, or an artist, or….? It all depends on the reader and the cards.
  8. You can ask any sort of question, but the best questions are the ones that are open ended (as opposed to yes/no questions) and that seek advice. A question like "will I get married and have kids?" assumes that your future is etched in stone and that you have no power to create the future that you want. Instead, something like "What can I do to help me have a wonderful marriage and family?" will empower you to create the future that you want. (Assuming, of course, that you want to get married and have a family.) As for your question "Am I asking to much to be given guidance on these things?" – definitely not. By all means, ask for guidance... but of course, then remember that your Tarot reader is only human, so evaluate that guidance intelligently. And best of luck to you, both in your Tarot reading and in your future relationships.
