  4. I like the Trickster from Supernatural. Having all the powers of God and use them just to play tricks on people, while making everything & everyone you wanted yours. BTW he looks like an average person like you & me but he only eats sweets and loves to play/tell jokes. Though some can get out of hand but he really doesn't care because lives of the people around him are just a "joke."
  5. changling phooka boggart dragon basilisk
  6. From folklore from various Slavic peoples (I'll give the Russian name, followed by various other Slavic names): vodyanoy/водяной (wodnik [Polish],водник [Bulgarian]): lots of Slavic words with "voda" in them connote something to do with water; this is a being usually described with green hair, beard, and covered in algae with webbed hands and feet, responsible for drownings, breaking dams, etc. rusalka (pl. rusalki): similar to the above and many water nymphs cross-culturally; usually said to be spirits of young women who committed grevious sins like having children out of wedlock or committing suicide, also responsible for drownings; there's a week dedicated to them in Early June called Rusal'naia/Semik, a fertility festival in many East Slavic lands, when the rusalki were said to be at their most powerful, coming out of their watery kingdoms and dancing the Khorovod (in general, any round dance; from "khor" meaning "round" or "circle") domovoi (домово́й): household spirits, usually small and male, who help with the housework and guard the home. Domovye (pl.) can cause a ruckus when angered from improper household care and improper language. Usually live under stove or threshold (two places in the home which were held with great importance, even still today, in Slavic lands). bannik: spirit of the bathhouse, a place of great mystery for the Slavs, most likely because one had to take off holy medals to enter to bath and births were done there (and with the high mortality rate of infants, the spirit was seen as viscious). Traditionally, every third or fourth fire was lit only for the spirit. Diviniations, done especially during Christmas time, were done here. It's difficult to generalize Slavic mythology since there are so many variants across the many peoples. It's difficult to do so in general, really. Things evolve from other things. It's not like one day people came up with an idea about griffins. These things evolve in that amorphous field of folklore and myth. Things are more complex than "Zeus is the god of storms." Myths held deeper importance to the culture in question and varied individually. I find Slavic myths and folklore interesting because of their obscurity and attempts to try and decipher what they really meant to the various peoples. If you like this stuff, there are more creatures like leshii/leszi (Polish) (ле́ший--it's difficult to transliterate from the Cyrillic from Roman script; there're so many variations) and vila, and characteres like Baba Jaga, Kolschei the Deathless, and the princes from the Russian bylinas, as well as the ancient deities like Dazhdbog, Svantevit, and Perun.
  7. you've had plenty of replies with some of my answers included but you've missed out BIGFOOT/SASQUATCH CYCLOPS , but the bestest 1 of the lot is the 3 legged 1 with a luverly pinkish/purple/orange tail ,with 5 arms 4 right 3 left , 2 heads 9 eyes , and 6 lurvley green/red teef causes no aggrovation to anyone . he's realy friendly and appears every weekend round about 11:35 pm. and keeps me in friendly conversation ALL THE WAY HOME WHERE HE LEAVE's me to attend to his next client :-) :-) :-) .
  8. Selkies are creatures that appear human on land, but when they put on their seal skin they transform into a seal. If a person takes a selkie's skin, that man or woman is forced to work for them and/or marry them. However, if a Selkie recovers their skin they are allowed to escape. Selkies have always facinated me. Definately one of my favourite mythical beings.
  9. Haggis. Has 2 short legs on one side of its body and 2 long ones on the other side for walkin round the side of mountains. Its horns were supposed to have been the first things to make bagpipe drones out of (the three stick like things that the noise comes from), the very noise that the bagpipes make now resembles the wail of the Haggis.
  10. The mice on the mouse organ
  11. Ahem... Jesus....
  12. Hobbits and elves. Lord of the Rings book.
  13. On a quick scroll through the answers already given, no-one seems to have mentioned the Wendigo.
