Mystical Question-What are your favorite mystical creatures that you have heard about in children's stories?

3. Fairies, I used to see them as a child....apparently. : ) I love the freedom and beauty of them.

Pegasus is one of my favorite and also one of the most common Though the horse Arion is pretty cool too, son of Poseidon and Demeter this horse is immortal and can speak the human language Last but not least is the Griffin this is my all time favorite these creatures are so cool I wish they were real
6. I've always favored phoenixes. Their feathers are either really hot or made of fire, they can fly, and they have tears that can heal.
7. When I was a kid, my grandmother used to tell me this story about a snake that lived on the other side of the puddles after a rainstorm, and about a warrior who wanted the pearl that was inside its fangs. He fought it for a long time, but eventually drowned to death because it dragged him there, and it was allowed to enter this world where it was eventually slain by a man from outside the tribe, who was the only one who could use the powers in the pearl (which they found out wasn't a pearl, but just a white stone). This snake supposedly had the face of a panther and the antlers of a deer, and its whiskers were like porcupine quills. Its blood was poisonous, if I recall, and it could open up doors to the caverns underground by swimming to the bottom of lakes. I remember thinking that thing was awesome, but I forget what it was called.
