Yu-Gi-Oh! deck question?

I found my old Yu-Gi-Oh! cards from like 5 years ago and my cousin and I use to play a lot. Now he found his and wants me to play with him but my deck has never been able to beat his deck. He has random cards in his deck that he collects and they are almost just as old. I can get some new cards from booster packs and what kind of deck can I make with these cards? I know they are old but I can get some booster packs for some new cards. What kind of strategies can I make? 1. I recommend taking out the 2 dark magicians. And also, a good stradegy I use to do when I was younger is comparing the stronger and weaker monsters, but don't get carried away with the 4+ star leveled monsters or it will seriously cripple your ass, I've learned. Put 2 beside each other and think of what they could both be useful for, then choose. But remember leave more space for the 4 star and lower leveled monsters, trust me. For spells try Dark Hole, Fissure x2, Axe of Despair, Mystical space typhoon, Monster Reborn, Dian Keto, Swords, Red Medicine, Change of Heart, Graceful Charity as your spells. For your traps try Trap Hole, Cemetery Bomb, Seven Tools of the Bandit, Dust Tornado, Waboku x2, Type Zero Magic Crusher (for the small life points). Good luck!
2. Okay firstly if you're thinking of ever playing in tournaments, find a ban list of the cards (because a lot of those cards are now banned since they're too powerful). Ok, here's a list of the best cards from your list: Monsters: 2 tributes: x1 Blue Eyes (don't bother with the Red Eyes chick combo. Red eyes isn't very good :P) 1 tribute: x1 Summoned Skull Any other good ones you can find, prefferably with effects and above 1900 ATK. No tribute: dark blade island turtle 7 coloured fish masaki octoclops Man eater bug mask of darkness zolga swarm of scarabs night assailant spirit of the harp witch of the black forest (its restricted though for tournaments). summoner of illusions Spells: Dark Hole (restricted) Change of Heart (restricted) Fissure x2 (limited to one in tournaments though) monster reborn dian keto axe of despair swords of revealing sword of the deep seated horn of the unicorn mystical space typhoon malevolent nuzzler graceful charity (restricted) Traps: trap hole cemetary bomb waboku x2 dust tornado seven tools Thats basically all of them lol but oh well. But, honestly, these cards are really outdated (as im sure you know) and the only cards you might put in a deck nowadays are: - Summoned Skull - Night Assailant - Man Eater Bug - Fissure - Axe of Despair - Mystical Space Typhoon - Swords of Revealing Light - Trap Hole - Waboku - Dust Tornado I would suggest starting over (if you're serious about yugioh) and getting some new cards, but putting those good cards i just listed in it. I would suggest getting some Duelist Genesis boosters and a Dark Emperor structure deck, then a 5D's Starter deck. Hope I helped! =]
