Mystical Angels

Does Stephen King believe in Vampires or other mystical like creatures?

Stephen King-author of numerous book that are classified as "horror fiction" often writes about vampires. He, as an author, has done extensive research and his writing is amazing- it is well informed and detailed- but is this due to his creative imagination or something more? After all of that research that he has done on vampires does he believe them to be real? He is a educated, intelligent and open minded person. Similarly does Richard Matheson believe? This is just random thoughts.... any comments, arguments, whatever are SO welcome.. isn't that the whole point of this website?

  1. I know steve personally! He no more believes in vampires than he does in catholics!
  2. If Stephen King believed in all the things he has written about in his books, he would be one very sick puppy. I don't believe it for a minute. Nevertheless I confess I have enjoyed much of his fiction.
  3. No, but I heard his books are based on dreams that he's had ect.
  4. Well I think that in a way he believes ! A person who doesnt believe in such things wouldnt be able to write about them. Maybe he doesnt believe in vampires like `creepy pale men who crawl up your window at night and drink your blood ` but he surely believes in something ... maybe that they have existed in a form or exist in another dimension . Or maybe he has believed in them as a child. I think that people who dont believe in ghosts and witches wouldnt find them interesting and write about something more earthly like cookery books and chick lit . And in a interview he said that one of the most frequent questions he is asked is `Are you afraid of the things you write about?`and he said that the answer was `Yes` Can you be afraid of something that you think doesnt exists ?`
  5. Stephen King is rumored to believe in literary agents -- one of the most disgusting of the Dark Spirits. More cannot be said.
