- Idk, you could make the basic structure with a dyed vinyl, then sprinkle it with gliter.
- I would recommend going to the hardware store and purchasing some sturdy wiring - so that you can bend them into the shape of the wings. With this metal skeleton, you can easily tack on the vinyl.
- Use cellophane, not vinyl.
- if it's aug. y r u stressing about oct.??( just saying) but to answer ur question, get wire, make 2 big loops and 2 small loops, then sow, or hot glue ur fabric to them. punch holes in all four ends then tie string to go around ur shoulders and to hold them together.
- !. Cut the vinyl edges into the realistic shape of wings. Making sure to get a feathery look on the edges at the ends of the wings 2. Make a rectangle out of cardboard to put in the center of the shoulder blades, to attach the straps like a backpack looks 3. On the cardboard attach 2 straps/ top and bottom/ on 2 opposite sides to go around your arms to hand the wings on your body which will rest up near your shoulders blades when it is time to wear the wings 4, Next staple the vinyl wings to the center of the cardboard (make sure your don't catch the arm holders while stapling) If your stapler is not strong enough. punch to attach the wings on the top and bottom of the wings and cardboard, put string or ribbon through the holes to firmly attach the wings. ***You should be set to go! Hope you look beautiful!
- Well i dont know anything about vinyl, but i have made some pretty wings out of nylon fabric, a glue gun, and metal hangers. they came out gorgeous. Here is a picture of what i did. its not a close up or anything, but it may give you an idea as to what to do. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y171/schmelee/MVC-004F-1.jpg If you need any help or more directions for creating this type of wings, just email me.
- 110$ for a pair of wings? wow, thats alot. I'm trying to make a mermaid costume too. Well, I'm thinking maybe you coul'd take the vinyl, and make a crease in the middle. Then, lightly draw a wing shape. The part where the wings go into your back should be closest to the crease. Then cut it out. It should be 2 wings, conected at the bottom, like when you fold paper, and make a half circle, it is a whole circle after you cut. Then take a long wire, and bend it the shape of the wing. Next, take the wings, hold one wing down, put the wire on top, and then the other wing on top of the wire, like a sandwitch. Then, take the wing , witch is still folded, and stitch. There is your wing base. I've never tried this before, but it think it would work. If you are confused, just e-mail me for pictures to go along with the directions.
